With great pleasure and pride, we announce the bti International Golf Championship 2012 at the Kurmitola Golf Club from the 7th to the 10th of May.
On occasion of this event, bti organized a press conference on the 6th of May 2012 at their premises at bti Celebration Point. bti Managing Director Mr. F.R. Khan and Assistant General Manager Aysha Siddiqua were present along with Mr. Arshi Haider, President, Brig Gen Salim Akhtar (retd.) Vice president and Brig Gen Abidur Reza Khan (retd), Secretary General of Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA).
In his speech, the Managing Director said, “The esteemed sport of golf is a practice of confidence, precision and determination. It tests one’s mind as well as one’s physical capabilities. At bti, these are some of the qualities we strive to nurture in individuals, making golf a game after our own hearts. In the past thirty years, as the pioneer real estate developer of Bangladesh, we have been one of the founding members of REHAB and have successfully completed and delivered over 3000 apartments to our valued customers. However, our core objectives and responsibilities are not limited to this. We have greater aims for the progress of our nation and its place in the world.”
He also added that the recent upsurge in the popularity of golf has been made evident as more and more talented and enthusiastic amateur and professional golfers are rising up and taking a stand. Our culture is evolving in the field of sports, and Bangladesh is making a mark internationally. In keeping pace with these changes and in promoting our sportsmen, this tournament aims to broaden the horizon of golf in our country and to further distinguish ourselves on an international platform.
He further extended his appreciation to the Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association for providing a gateway for a greater participation on bti’s part in this field, and to the efforts of the Kurmitola Gold club in supporting their endeavor.
We would like to thank our media partners – ATN News, Radio Today, Shamakal and The Daily Star for their valuable participation and support.
